Lyra Health is looking for a Lead Design Program Manager to support our design team in delivering work across every step of the mental health journey. As a Design Program Manager at Lyra, you’ll help shape culture and process from the ground up while applying both high-level strategy and planning around the design organization to make it as effective as possible. In this role, you’ll serve as a leader within the design organization, an advocate for the Product Design team and the design process, and a trusted partner to cross functional team members.


  • Represent and help scale Design within Lyra including working directly with a multidisciplinary team of designers, researchers, writers, and illustrators
  • Develop and implement processes and resources to support how we design user experiences and collaborate with product teams
  • Continuously examine, experiment, and measure improvements to our operational model and processes (i.e. automating tasks, improving workflows, and developing repeatable methodologies)
  • Evaluate and implement new tools to solve our growing need to collaborate across designers and cross-functional product partners 
  • Identify opportunities to scale our Design systems, and ensure collaboration and alignment across marketing, clinical, and product teams
  • Support and elevate the quality of design work through product and clinical collaboration on curriculum content development
  • Collaborate, communicate, and negotiate with product managers, clinicians, engineers and stakeholders at all levels across the organization
  • Own and drive the design project lifecycle from strategic planning, scheduling, requirements gathering, design reviews, delivery and implementation to launch
  • Scope and define projects strategically with cross functional partners and design team
  • Support quarterly planning and prioritization with cross functional teams, balancing multiple inputs and needs
  • Provide up to date visibility into current projects, team utilization, project health and priorities
  • Participate in and facilitate design reviews and retrospectives
  • Source and evaluate design vendors as needed including facilitating statements of work and negotiating business terms and budgets


  • 5+ years of experience in design thinking, product design, user experience, or design strategy and experience partnering with design teams 
  • Passion for user experience and design 
  • Understanding and appreciation of design practices, software, and systems
  • Proven ability to manage workflows, project plans and ship high quality design
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of successful partnership with product managers, designers, analytics, engineers, and other business partners
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to solve problems in an ambiguous, fast-moving environment
  • Experience in scaling design practices and processes across an organization
  • Experience working as a Producer or Program Manager of an in-house UX/Product Design or Research team
  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, visual communication, HCI, or equivalent practical experience
