About the Role
Lyra is looking for a senior manager of tax, reporting directly to the global head of tax, to join our
quickly growing finance team. The person in this role will team closely with the head of tax to
cover all areas of tax for Lyra, including tax accounting, tax compliance, indirect taxes, transfer
pricing, SALT, M&A, commercial tax considerations, and tax planning related to global
expansion. The person in this role must have a strong foundation in tax and a willingness to
work on a broad range of tax issues. This is an exciting opportunity to help build a tax function

An ideal candidate will have a track record of successfully operating in dynamic environments
and should be comfortable with domestic and international tax issues and working cross-
functionally to resolve issues. The candidate should also be flexible and adaptable as priorities
change and willing to roll up their sleeves to solve a variety of tax and finance issues.


  • Coordinate with third party provider to prepare tax provision, including tax footnote, in accordance with ASC 740
  • Manage domestic tax compliance, including indirect taxes; work with third party providers to prepare income tax returns
  • Research and document various US tax positions, including positions related to federal tax, SALT, US international tax, and indirect taxes
  • Structure commercial agreements to optimize tax outcomes, including review of tax clauses in customer and provider agreements
  • Review inter-company agreements and oversee transfer pricing studies as needed
  • Review due diligence on potential acquisitions and own post-merger tax-related activities to ensure tax matters are consistently addressed
  • Implement and execute appropriate financial controls
  • Manage financial, tax and statutory audits and tax notices


  • CPA
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
  • Law degree or advanced degree in Taxation a plus
  • 6+ years of tax experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a specialty area of tax such as international tax, M&A, or SALT
  • Experience at a major public accounting firm
  • Experience at a tech or healthcare company
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to think through complex problems, determine proper processes, model potential outcomes, and derive conclusions
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage projects/tasks in a fast-paced environment

 This is a full-time role that can be located in the headquarters in SF Bay Area (Burlingame, California), or remote.
