We are seeking a results-oriented professional with effective execution skills, the ability to operate autonomously and work proactively with various teams across the organizations
You will be a critical team member on Lyra’s legal team to support and grow its  commercial contracting team to help Lyra fulfill its mission to bring mental and emotional health solutions to large employers across the country.  You will lead and manage the commercial contracting team, including for our customer contracts, supplier contracts, and legal operations. 


  • Lead the commercial contracting team in supporting Lyra’s sales side commercial opportunities, including scaling of team, creation of contracting playbook, training for team members in effective negotiation and T&C management, and management of strategic areas for the commercial team.  When appropriate, collaborate with leadership and internal stakeholders to define/drive discussions with clients and prospects; and ensure team members are properly trained. Be prepared to step into negotiations on high-stakes transactions, as needed.
  • Provide guidance and leadership on Lyra’s supplier contracts, including for technology procurement.
  • Effectively manage operations for the contracting teams, including division of work amongst team members and troubleshooting issues
  • Oversee, provide guidance, and problem solve team negotiations for customer agreements, license agreements, partnership agreements, confidentiality agreements, statements of work, vendor and SaaS agreements, data security agreements, requests for proposals (RFPs) and other documents; 
  • Work cross-functionally and provide legal guidance to various internal functions in the business from the commercial legal perspective including new opportunities and product lines. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external experts to ensure that commercial agreements appropriately manage risk and comply with policies, laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Provide legal and strategic business advice to help develop a comprehensive, long-term approach to our relationships with partners
  • Support team culture and be prepared to mentor junior team members.


  • Law degree from an accredited law school; membership in a state bar and in  good standing
  • 10+ years legal experience in commercial contracting in-house or at a law firm;  experience with a technology company or health care organization strongly preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, judgment, communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent negotiation, drafting and communication skills with the ability to support sales departments and manage enterprise sales deals.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse teams through complex negotiations, keeping all tasks organized and stakeholders clearly informed of deliverables and timelines.
  • Experience partnering with sales team in collaborative environment
  • Experience reviewing and managing legal issues in contracting concerning health care regulatory compliance, data privacy and security, licensing arrangements.
  • Ability to understand business objectives and think creatively and outside-the-box to find resolutions to achieve requirements of all parties.
  • Highly responsive with a service-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to give succinct, commercially driven legal advice.
  • Demonstrated experience leading projects, including collecting, distilling and summarizing issues from relevant stakeholders and moving projects forward
  • Experienced manager in a diverse and supportive environment, including hiring, substantive work management, team operations management, and goal setting and review
  • Ability to think quickly on your feet, convey grace under pressure, and simultaneously manage workloads, multiple client demands and shifting priorities
  • Sense of humor and strong affinity for team donut day
