July 1, 2026
We're excited to announce a major milestone for Lyra's Center of Excellence for Neurodiversity (CoE). Beginning July 1, the program will be available to eligible members across the United States, with global expansion planned for January 1, 2027.
This expansion reflects what we've heard from employers and families since launch: the need for specialized neurodiversity support continues to grow. The CoE for Neurodiversity is expected to support more than 864,000 members across our customer base.
Supporting the whole experience of neurodiversity
Neurodiversity isn't one experience or one diagnosis. Some people are seeking clarity after years of unanswered questions. Others are supporting a child through evaluations and school challenges. Many are looking for practical strategies to navigate work, relationships, and everyday life.
The Center of Excellence brings together a range of support services, from neuro-affirming therapy and medication management to peer groups, workplace resources, and family support. It also includes four specialized services to address some of the most common challenges individuals and families face:
Neurodiversity care advocacy
Dedicated Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) help members navigate complex systems, coordinate care, identify resources, and advocate for themselves or their families.
Neuropsychological evaluations
Comprehensive evaluations for children and adults are available by our in-house team through virtual and in-person options, with appointments available in as little as one week, to get answers faster.
Caregiver training
Evidence-based training helps caregivers support children with neurodivergent conditions at home, at school, and throughout everyday life.
Neurodiversity skills coaching
Personalized coaching helps adults with neurodivergent conditions strengthen executive functioning, communication, emotional regulation, organization, and workplace skills.
When support fits, outcomes follow
From health care and retail to financial services and life sciences, employers are investing in specialized neurodiversity support to help employees and families access the care they need. Organizations see the impact as well. An internal analysis found that every $1 invested in Lyra's neurodiversity care delivers an estimated $1.70 in savings through reduced health care costs and recovered productivity.
What we’re hearing from members
The growth of the program reflects a reality we hear every day: people are looking for more than awareness. They're looking for guidance, expertise, and support that helps them move forward.
“I look forward to doing the check-ins, making the changes that I need to allow my brain to function in its unique way while also achieving goals that often run counter to that.”—Lyra member
“I pray that everyone in this pilot is experiencing breakthroughs the way I am.”—Lyra member
“I really love my provider and the way she makes me think about options to help me with my issues at work/home. The resources are wonderful.”—Lyra member
“Behavioral health is our top claims driver overall. Looking at that more closely, it’s actually neurodiversity needs in children driving the majority of our claims cost in behavioral health. This is a very significant area that we are paying attention to at our firm.”—Katie Zalaney, Senior Benefits Manager, Benesch Law
These quotes reflect something we continue to see across the program: when people can access specialized, neuro-affirming support, they gain clarity, confidence, and a stronger path forward.
An important milestone with more to come
The conversation around neurodiversity continues to evolve. Awareness has opened doors, but employees and families need more than awareness alone. They need answers, expert guidance, and support that meets them where they are.
We're proud to partner with organizations that are making specialized neurodiversity care available to more people than ever before. The U.S. rollout is just the beginning. With global expansion planned for 2027, we'll continue helping more employees and families access life-changing support around the world.
