At TD Bank, people matter most. As one of the 10 largest banks in the U.S., TD is committed to providing a banking experience that is “unexpectedly human,” providing customers with service above and beyond what they would expect from a bank. Its approach to colleague benefits is no different: “Our philosophy and our strategy are aligned to our culture of care. We prioritize our colleagues—their health, wealth, and family—so they can be their best selves at work and at home,” said Ivana Huang, HR manager.
Through Lyra, TD Bank empowered employees, providing instant access to comprehensive, high-quality mental health care—and it saw immediate engagement with the Lyra benefit.
Lyra’s mental health support offerings stood out as an obvious solution to meet our colleagues’ needs and in a way that clearly matched our commitment to ensure our colleagues have the right support.

Addressing a critical gap in employee well-being. TD Bank saw an increasing need for mental health support among its workforce, yet utilization of existing telehealth services was low. “There was a disconnect,” said Ivana, “People were reporting they were struggling and yet they weren’t accessing the services.”
TD’s Health and Well-being team recognized Lyra’s ability to offer fast, high-quality, and comprehensive mental health care as a way to better support their workforce and improve outcomes. “This is our moment to show up, lead with intent, and demonstrate what true care looks like. By prioritizing mental health, we’re not just transforming care—we’re shaping a workplace where everyone can thrive,” said Ivana.
For TD Bank, Lyra was the clear choice for comprehensive care. During the evaluation process, “Lyra’s mental health support offerings stood out as an obvious solution to meet our colleagues’ needs and in a way that clearly matched our commitment to ensuring our colleagues have the right support to be their best selves,” said Ivana. With Lyra, TD Bank found a partner who shared its values, providing fast, high-quality, and culturally responsive care.
The post-launch response has been overwhelmingly positive, with Ivana sharing, “’Wow’ is what I’ve heard over and over again from so many people.” One example of Lyra’s impact came from an employee who discovered their existing therapist was a Lyra provider. The employee was able to transition from paying $200 per session to receiving care for free. “That’s exactly why we wanted to do this,” said Ivana.
Unlocking productivity and business success. For Jeff Solomon, President of TD Cowen, Lyra is integral to both employee well-being and overall business prosperity. By equipping employees with the tools for mental well-being through Lyra, Jeff knows he is fostering an environment where individuals can thrive, which in turn drives the success of the business. “If you have an organization filled with individuals who are taking care of their mental health, the opportunity for your organization to excel increases dramatically.”
While lower medical claims and disability claims related to mental health are tangible goals TD expects to see according to Ivana, the true measure of success lies in broader organizational health: “Our colleagues’ experience is at the center of our mental health strategy and is what has driven us to improve access to high quality and inclusive care. In turn, we believe people will feel more supported at work and engaged because we believe in them. That’s the level of success that we’re always shooting for.”
